How Green Home Improvement Finance Works
Getting a no-obligation quote for solar panels, battery storage or a heat pump in Scotland is simple. We arrange the survey and quote; installation is carried out by our MCS-certified partner. Loans are available, subject to status.
Step 1 — Tell us about your home
Start by completing the short form on our get a quote page or in the hero on the home page. We ask for your name, a UK phone number, email, postcode, which improvement you are interested in (solar panels, battery storage, or a heat pump), and your consent to be contacted about your enquiry.
The form takes less than a minute to complete. There is a hidden honeypot field that helps us filter out automated spam, so genuine enquiries come straight through to our Scottish team.
Step 2 — We arrange a no-obligation survey
Once we receive your enquiry, our team will contact you to arrange a survey at a time that suits you. The survey is carried out at your home and is completely no-obligation — you are not committing to anything by having it done.
During the survey, our MCS-certified partner will look at the factors that determine what would work for your home:
- For solar panels: roof orientation, pitch, available space, any shading from chimneys or nearby trees, and the condition of your roof.
- For battery storage: your current electrical setup, where a battery could be sited, and how much surplus generation you are likely to have.
- For heat pumps: your existing heating system, the insulation and airtightness of your home, the size of your radiators or underfloor heating, and your hot water demand.
The surveyor will answer any questions you have and explain the options in plain language.
Step 3 — You receive a written quote
After the survey, you receive a written quote for the recommended installation. If you are interested in spreading the cost, the quote will include a representative example showing the monthly cost, so you can see exactly what the finance would look like before you decide.
We do not publish rates or loan amounts on this website, because the right figure depends on your home, the installation, and your personal circumstances. The quote you receive is tailored to you.
Loans available, subject to status. Finance is subject to eligibility and affordability checks. A representative example is provided with any quote.
Step 4 — Installation by our MCS-certified partner
If you decide to go ahead, the installation is carried out by our MCS-certified partner. We do not install ourselves — we arrange the survey and quote, and the installation work is completed under proper accreditation. We install through MCS-certified partners.
Installation timescales depend on the type and size of the system, the weather, and how busy the installation team is. Your quote will include an indicative timescale for the work.
Why we work this way
By separating the survey and quote from the installation, we make sure you get a clear, no-pressure assessment of what would work for your home before any installation is scheduled. You see the cost, you see the monthly finance figure, and you decide in your own time.
This approach works well for homeowners across Scotland because it is transparent at every stage. Whether you live in a tenement flat in Glasgow, a suburban house in Edinburgh, a rural property in Perthshire, or anywhere else in Scotland, the process is the same.
What we do not do
We do not carry out the installation ourselves — that is done by our MCS-certified partner. We do not quote for work outside Scotland. And we do not ask you to commit to anything at the survey stage: the survey and quote are no-obligation, and a representative example is provided with any finance quote so you can compare options clearly.

Frequently asked questions
Is the survey really no-obligation?
Yes. The survey and the written quote are provided with no obligation. You only proceed if you choose to, and there is no pressure at any stage.
Who actually carries out the installation?
We arrange the survey and quote. The installation itself is carried out by our MCS-certified partner, so the work is completed under proper accreditation.
Do you install outside Scotland?
No. We arrange surveys and quotes for homeowners in Scotland only. If you own your home anywhere in Scotland, from the Borders to the Highlands, we can help.
What happens after I complete the form?
Our Scottish team will contact you to arrange a no-obligation survey at a convenient time. After the survey, you receive a written quote with a representative example showing the monthly cost.
